Throughout the year, BREMF contributes to the vibrant arts scene in Brighton and Hove through its programme of choral concerts, workshops and schools projects. The annual Festival takes place in late October and early November and has built a reputation for lively and inspired programming, often exploring connections with different art forms and using performance formats and spaces that challenge preconceptions of early music.
The Whispering Dome was initially commissioned in 2020 by the then artistic director of BrEMF, the late Deborah Roberts. BrEMF continues to support the project in creating connections with festivals and educational institutions across the world.
BirdLife International is a global partnership of conservation organisations dedicated to protecting birds, biodiversity and the natural systems that sustain life on Earth. Founded in 1922 and headquartered in Cambridge, UK, it works through national partner organisations in over 100 countries. BirdLife combines scientific research, on-the-ground conservation and policy advocacy to prevent bird extinctions and protect vital habitats. It is the official authority for birds on the IUCN Red List and leads the identification of Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas worldwide. By working with communities, governments and businesses, BirdLife aims to create a sustainable future for nature and people alike.
Birdlife are currently partnering with The Whispering Dome to explore ways of combining environmental education with performances of our show, using their global network of affiliated organisations to facilitate the creation of new connections for the project.
